Funded Artist Residency opportunity at spudWORKS Live/Work space
SPUD has a vision to convert the remains of an old disused water tower in their grounds to a bespoke space for creative activities for people living with dementia and their carers, ‘The Living Room’. Currently this space has been transformed into an experimental, temporary outside workshop area to enable us to use it and familiarise visitors and workshops participants with the space.
Working with our central concepts at the core: place/placemaking, collaboration, design and communities, the aim of this residency is to explore that space in collaboration with participants to develop new and innovative ways of working to make deeper connections with older people locally, those with dementia and the groups that support them.
This is an opportunity for an artist/artist group to undertake a residency at our studios in Sway, New Forest with a focus on engaging older people in the community, and particularly people living with early stage dementia and their carers. Applicants should have previous experience of working with this group. The residency will give studio space and time for the artist to develop their own work the themes, to explore the 'Living Room' space and to build to a series of innovative workshops to run next spring/summer with members of the community.
For the artist's brief, applications and more information please contact Alex Hoare: email@example.com
Deadline for applications is 29th October 5pm.
